"World Wide Wabbit" is the 11th episode of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

Plot[]

SPOILER: Plot details follow.

Frankie is working on the new Foster's website. Mac and Bloo are watching her, awe-stricken. Mr. Herriman enters the room to tell Frankie that she is neglecting her picture-straightening chores, and she needs to leave. She then gives Mac and Bloo her video camera to make video interviews of the adoptees to help them find a home. She asks that they not make the residents look stupid. However, Bloo makes fun of the majority of the adoptees being interviewed. This frustrates Mac, as he believes they failed at their task.

As Mac moves on to interview Madame Foster in her room, he and Bloo notice Mr. Herriman already there. They peek through the door for a while, then run away laughing. Bloo asks if Mac recorded what they saw, and Mac confirms. Bloo wants to show Frankie, but Mac says they shouldn't embarrass Herriman. Bloo snatches the camera and runs to Frankie's room, with Mac chasing behind. Bloo reaches Frankie first and insists that she watch the video. Frankie says that she would like to watch but will delete it immediately after. Mac relents, and she hooks the camera up to her computer.

The video shows Mr. Herriman serving Madame Foster tea. She asks him to do something that he used to do when she was younger. Mr. Herriman obliges and starts singing his "Funny Bunny" song. He dances and hops around the room, singing about his "floppity" ears, declaring himself head of the Funny Bunny Council, and booping Madame Foster's nose. Once the video ends, Frankie and Bloo fall over laughing, and Mac attempts to delete the footage. Frankie refuses, saying she has always wanted dirt on Mr. Herriman. Mac protests again, but Bloo invites Wilt, Eduardo, and Coco to watch the video, too. They all laugh, and Mac is irritated. He demands that Frankie delete the video, as 3 too many people have seen it. Frankie reluctantly deletes it from her camera. Mac leaves to go interview Madame Foster, satisfied. However, before Bloo can complain, Frankie reveals several DVDs, all containing copies of the video.

Later, Mac emerges from Madame Foster's room after her interview. Fluffer Nutter and Jackie Khones pass by, talking about how funny the video was. Mac, horrified, hurries downstairs to Frankie's room to see Bloo charging the house residents to see the video. Mac tries to get in, but Coco blocks his entry. At that moment, Mr. Herriman approaches. The line into Frankie's room disperses, and Frankie quickly takes the video off of her computer screen. Herriman enters and talks to Frankie about changing the dinner menu to have more healthy options, but all Frankie can hear is his cutesy "Funny Bunny" speech as he talks. Frankie tries her hardest to not laugh, and after Herriman leaves, she and Bloo crack up. Mac asks why they didn't delete the footage, and Frankie reveals one of her DVDs through her laughter. Mac breaks it in half, but Frankie and Bloo laugh harder, since they have more discs.

Later, before dinner, Mr. Herriman decides to make an announcement about the healthier dining options. However, no one is able to take him seriously and eventually start laughing. Mr. Herriman is confused and chides the friends for mocking "Miss Milly-Lilly's Low-fat Chili". Mac is irritated again. After dinner, he searches Frankie's room for the other discs while Frankie and Bloo watch the video again. Mac tells Frankie that if Herriman finds out what she did, he will make her miserable with extra work. Frankie sees Mac's point and quickly destroys the rest of the discs. Mac goes home for the day and Frankie leaves her room, but Bloo is left behind with the last copy of the video and decides to upload it to the internet.

The next day, a package arrives at Foster's, which Eduardo eagerly snatches up. When Frankie goes to sign for it, the delivery man asks if Frankie is down in the "dumpity" today. This confuses Frankie, but she pays it no mind, and goes back inside. The phone rings, and she answers. The snickering man on the other line asks how he can join the Funny Bunny council, which horrifies Frankie. Then, Mac enters the house, holding up an "I ♥ Funny Bunny" umbrella. They both go to Frankie's room and Mac dumps out his backpack full of Funny Bunny merchandise. Frankie asks how people outside of Foster's know about this and throws a Funny Bunny shirt at Bloo. Bloo pulls up a webpage about Funny Bunny. There are edited fan videos, as well as the original video and a merch store. Bloo linked the Funny Bunny site to the Foster's site, which has now gotten over 20 million hits as a result of the video. Before Frankie can yell at Bloo anymore, Eduardo enters wearing a Funny Bunny shirt. He ordered FB merchandise for his closest friends, and already gave Wilt and Coco their merchandise. Frankie tells Eduardo that Mr. Herriman can't see any Funny Bunny stuff. Eduardo asks why, and Mac quickly says that Herriman will explode if he sees it. Eduardo runs off in a panic to find Wilt and Coco. Frankie then threatens Bloo to help her and Mac cover up the Funny Bunny merchandise.

Eduardo runs towards Wilt and Coco, shouting for them to take their clothes off. Madame Foster, who is walking downstairs, overhears him and cheers loudly, dropping her cane, and yanking off her t-shirt and cap, waving her t-shirt in the air and jogging back upstairs, while continuing with it. Coco runs off, but Wilt gets tackled. Eduardo takes Wilt's shirt, while Frankie and Bloo try to take Coco's FB hat. She refuses to give it up and runs off. Frankie and Bloo chase her, but all three run into Mr. Herriman, who is looking for the newspaper. Frankie tries covering Coco up with the paper, but Funny Bunny has made the front page. Before Herriman can look at it closely, Eduardo tackles him. Frankie then takes Coco's hat, crumples the newspaper, and passes the paper ball to Bloo. A game of keep-away starts with the newspaper ball, as everyone passes the ball around. Once it reaches Eduardo, he swallows it. Herriman is upset at this but is interrupted by the doorbell ringing. It is a news crew, asking to interview Mr. Funny Bunny. Before the reporter says "Bunny," Eduardo tackles Herriman again. Frankie tells Herriman that she will handle the door while he goes to watch the news now that the newspaper is gone. Frankie tells the reporter that Herriman will not do an interview and to leave. The reporter tries to tell her that they are already broadcasting live, but she slams the door in his face. The reporter's words settle in after that, and they hurry to try and stop Herriman from watching the news.

But it's too late. The reporter on TV says that Funny Bunny will not take an interview despite his popularity and plays a brief clip of the video. Herriman demands to know who did this and why. Frankie, Bloo, and Mac all blame each other. Frankie says that Bloo ultimately uploaded the file to the internet, and Herriman heads off to his office, searching his file cabinets for the file, making Frankie tell him that the file is on her computer. He quickly takes Frankie's computer and dumps it into the garbage. While Frankie fishes her computer out of the trash, Mac tries to explain that the file is already on the internet, and can't be deleted, but Herriman doesn't quite understand the concept of the internet. He tells Bloo and Mac that he will have vengeance for what they did and retrieves his old video camera from the closet. He starts filming Mac and Bloo, wanting them to do something silly on camera. The two of them just stand there. Then the camera breaks, burying Herriman in strips of film.

Herriman is fed up, and declares he needs a stiff glass of carrot juice. As he opens the front door, he is accosted by news crews and paparazzi, armed with cameras. He runs back through the house, but no matter where he goes, there are people with cameras and microphones, wanting to talk to Funny Bunny. They chase him all over the house, and even use a news chopper when he reaches the roof. Eventually, they corner Herriman in a closet. Herriman covers his eyes, and the door creaks open. A little girl steps forward and gives Herriman a drawing she made of him. One of the adults explains that seeing the Funny Bunny video inspired her and her family to adopt an imaginary friend. Mr. Herriman is relieved that no one is making fun of him and offers to show everyone the imaginary friends. The kids (and adults) start hopping like Herriman as they follow him, saying "hippity hoppity."

A few days later, Herriman gathers everyone for a house meeting. He says that thanks to him, there were a great deal of adoptions. He incorporates some lines from his song into his speech, making the residents groan and roll their eyes. Herriman continues, saying that he recorded a new version of his Funny Bunny song and posted it on the Foster's site. He plays the video, which is of him "rapping" while a DJ imaginary friend scratches away on a turntable. He says that kids like hip-hop and thought it would be funny since he hops around. No one really finds it funny or entertaining, except Madame Foster, and everyone leaves while Herriman continues to "rap".

While the credits roll, we see Herriman's film about Mac and Bloo. It's a silent film about "The Two Goofballs" and their "Silly Shenanigans". Again, it's just Mac and Bloo staring at the camera, while captions display about how silly they both are.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first time to have Frankie without strings of hair hanging over her ears. Strangely, the strings reappear in the next episode, "Berry Scary", then disappeared later in "Who Let the Dogs In?", then reappeared in "Adoptcalypse Now". According to the production code, this is the eleventh episode made. "Who Let the Dogs In?" is the 13th episode and the last made for season one, as the hair strings are completely removed, making that her official design.
  • In this episode, Mac eats cookies but has no sugar rush. The real-life reason for this is that Mac's character wasn't completely fledged out by this point in the show; the in-universe reason is that the cookies must have been sugar-free.
  • In this article from multichannel news, Eric J. Smith mentions a scene from this episode as "pushing the edge", specifically the scene where Madame Foster takes off her shirt & jumps up and down on the stairs after Eduardo yells "Take off your clothes!".

Cultural references[]

  • Sounds from Windows 98/Windows Me appear in this episode. Chimes.wav is the most played sound in the episode.
  • Frankie's desktop is a dull computer, a nod to the Dell computer company.
  • Several Funny Bunny products have the slogan "I ❤ FB", with the same font as "I ❤ NY" products.
  • Among the Funny Bunny products is a Pezz dispenser, an obvious parody of the Pez candy dispenser.
  • The ebun site is a parody of eBay.
  • Some text on the ebun site reads "funded by Cartoon Network", Cartoon Network being the TV network that aired Foster's.
  • Among the items in Mr. Herriman's closet is a Scraggle board game, a parody of the Scrabble crossword game.

Goofs[]

  • In the very first shot, the screen's search bar reads "www.fosters.com", yet "fosters" is vertically mirrored.
    • Later, Bloo goes to "www.fBun.com", with "fBun" vertically mirrored as well.
    • This also happens on "www.ebun.com", this time with "ebun".
  • When the screen shakes, there are visible black lines meant to show the edges of the otherwise still screen.
  • There are two shots showing Sally's drawing of Mr. Herriman, but the second one shows the drawing vertically mirrored.
