Trivia[]

  • This was the first episode to be produced in 2008.
  • This is the final episode where both Frankie and Coco are absent.
  • In real life, it's not realistic to be most wanted for an overdue library book and it's not illegal to have an overdue library book.

Cultural references[]

  • The episode's title references the titling convention of many detective stories and the works based on them, perhaps particularly the Sherlock Holmes stories, such as Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking (2004).
  • This episode features numerous references to iconic crime or noir films, with Jackie Khones himself posing as a classical hardboiled detective from noir films. The beginning with Jackie floating in the pool is a reference to Sunset Blvd. (1950). The montage sequence hints at blaxploitation classics Shaft (1971) and Truck Turner (1974), with the music being a parody of the iconic Isaac Hayes theme songs from those respective movies, but in particular of "Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow", the theme song to the TV detective drama, Baretta (1975-1978), sung by popular entertainer Sammy Davis, Jr. Jackie Khones obviously has a soft spot for blaxploitation, since his Halloween costume in the episode "Nightmare on Wilson Way" is inspired by the outlandish fashion of pimps from films like The Mack (1974) or Willie Dynamite (1974).
