"Frankie My Dear" is the 6th episode of season 2 of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
Plot[]
SPOILER: Plot details follow.
Frankie's been forced to do a bunch of paperwork by Mr. Herriman, which she's obviously really upset about, especially since she'd rather go to a concert with her friends. Mac, who happens to be at Foster's as well (presumably to spend time with Bloo), offers to take care of all the paperwork for Frankie and encourages her to go to the concert with her friends. Frankie tries politely declining Mac's offer, not wanting him to "suffer" any more than she does, but he insists that it's no big deal, especially since he does this sort of thing for his mom all the time at home (bragging that he organizes all of her bank statements). Frankie's surprised by this and, upon seeing how Mac has already organized a bunch of the paperwork that Mr. Herriman gave to her, she becomes overjoyed and kisses Mac (on the cheek) to thank him before rushing off to her room to get ready for the concert. After that, Mac develops a huge crush on Frankie, and later, Bloo does too. The two start competing for her love the next day as Frankie is unusually happy about the previous night, mentioning how she met the man of her dreams. Soon, they realize her unnamed suitor is neither of them and become jealous, trying to thwart every guy she comes in contact with, namely Chris (a pizza guy), Prince Charming (an imaginary friend), and her real date, Dylan, who takes her to a fancy restaurant for their date.
Mac, Bloo, Chris and Prince Charming form a team and a master plan to get Frankie's new boyfriend. The plan involves Chris, Mac, and Bloo standing on each other's shoulders and wearing a huge overcoat to make it look like they're one really tall person, with Bloo on top wearing a fake mustache and, to the Prince Charming's disappointment, him disguised as a woman. The plan that involves trying to fool Frankie ultimately fails, because Frankie is able to see right through Bloo's ridiculous disguise. After Bloo talks the Prince Charming into taking Frankie to the lady's room to "powder their noses", Bloo tries to confront Dylan, who quickly yanks the disguise off. It turns out Dylan is a complete jerk as he reveals his true colors— he claims that Frankie is his property and that she doesn't truly like Mac and Bloo and is only being nice to them because she "feels sorry for them", but they corrected him by saying that Frankie is nice to them because she's cool and she likes them. Dylan goes as far as to verbally assault the three of them by questioning why any girl would want to go out with a dork, a kid, and a thing when they can go out with a guy like him. Dylan tries to send them off just as an enraged Frankie, who overheard his insults, comes out of the lady's room after punching Prince Charming in the eye, which Prince Charming states that Frankie’s so cute when she’s mad, before passing out. Frankie angrily confronts Dylan about everything he said about her friends. Dylan unsuccessfully tries to hide what he did, and Frankie beats him up.
In the end, Frankie and the guys are eating pizza at Foster's, and the guys talk about the way that Frankie beat up Dylan for what he did (during which it's revealed that Frankie gave him a nosebleed, an atomic wedgie and that he apparently wears briefs). Mac, speaking for himself and the others, apologizes to Frankie for ruining her date with Dylan -- but Frankie assures him and the others that they ultimately did her a huge favor, since Dylan turned out to be a serious jerk. She then states that she doesn't need a man (she meant a boyfriend), prompting Prince Charming, Chris, Mac, and Bloo to claim that they aren't men and starts hitting on her, much to Frankie's dismay.
Running gags[]
- Bloo reminding Mac that he has the least shot with Frankie because he's "just a kid", and for Mac to remind Bloo he's not human.
- Bloo always ending his speech with "especially not Mac", but Mac stops him from finishing saying it the third time.
- Bloo not knowing the pizza guy's name, always calling him "what's your face".
Spoilers end here.

Trivia[]
- This episode features Mac's first kiss (or rather kisses since Frankie kisses him twice) and first crush.
- This is the first time Frankie wears her black dress, which consists of a black dress covering most of her body, black tights, and black Mary Jane-like heels. She would later wear her black dress again in "Ticket to Rod" and "Fools and Regulations".
- Dylan Lee returns for a non-speaking cameo in "Cheese A Go-Go".
- It is later revealed in "Ticket to Rod" that Mac still bears his crush on Frankie.
- Bloo later wears his Orlando Bloo disguise again in "Neighbor Pains" and "Goodbye to Bloo", but with Wilt helping him instead of Mac and Chris.
- This is the only episode where Wilt, Eduardo, and Coco are all absent outside of the intro, although the formermost is mentioned.
- Technically, this is the first episode to have Wilt absent.
- This episode reveals the ages of two of the series' characters:
- Frankie's revealed to be 22 (making her at least 14 years older than 8-year-old Mac), and has also apparently finished college.
- Bloo is (chronologically) 5-years-old, because Mac claims to have created Bloo at age 3.
- Here's how each of the following characters fall for Frankie:
- Mac - getting a kiss from her
- Bloo - seeing her dressed beautifully
- Chris - listening to Bloo babbling that she loves him
- Prince Charming - seeing her for the first time
Cultural references[]
- The title is a reference to "Frankly, my dear…", part of a famous quote from the movie Gone with the Wind.
- When Bloo is on the mission, he is disguised as Orlando Bloo, which is a reference to the real-life actor, Orlando Bloom.
