"Challenge of the Super Friends" is the first episode of the fourth season of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

Plot[]

A giant imaginary friend is ferociously attacking a city, Foster's bus came to where the attack Frankie tries to talk people down by saying it’s just an imaginary friends and it’s perfectly harmless, but she was wrong about the harmless part. Wilt suggested they need a bigger cage, and a monster grabs him. Eduardo tries to save him, but the monster had scared him off and so he to same to Coco. Bloo complained about not going to the hardware store to get supplies, but Mac tries to make understand that the monster attack is more urgent. Wanted to get it wrapped up so he get to go to the hardware store, so he tries using a net to get the monster, but the net is too small. When the monster tries to attack Mac, Imaginary Man saved his life by launching mashed potatoes at monster with his Mashed Potato Ray. The emerges from mashed potatoes with Bloo who said that mashed potatoes didn’t have enough salt. Imaginary Man saves Bloo and Wilt from the monster. The monster is a fire breather with green flames Imaginary Man dodged the fire, but the fire is heading toward the statue of famous explorer Edward Down who founded the town, Panic Imaginary Man use Orange Soda Soaker to put out the fire and save the statue. Imaginary Man says nobody messes with the Founder Fathers of his country.


Imaginary Man asks Mac to be his sidekick, Mac-Attack, making Bloo jealous. Nemesis then gets his hair done at the salon, but she fights Imaginary Man and Mac. Bloo joins the battle, but Mac tells him not to interfere, but his accidentally squirts hair gel on Bloo's face. Nemesis recruits Bloo for revenge and transforms him into Lord Uniscorn. They wreck havoc in town, and they were confronted by the superheroes. Bloo then comes up with a perfect plan, lure Imaginary Man and Mac to Foster's for a showdown. Mac is tied up, and Bloo wants to be Mac's best friend forever. Nemesis then zaps Bloo, and reminds him that he went insane because of the hair gel. Bloo reunites with Mac, and Imaginary Man tells them not to mess with his Nemesister's hair.

  • This episode borrows numerous trademark elements from The Powerpuff Girls, another show created by Craig McCracken.
    • The opening narration from the newsman in this episode resembles the narration used frequently in The Powerpuff Girls.
    • Bloo's repetitive, extravagant speech as Lord Uniscorn is likely a reference to the way Mojo Jojo talks.
  • Wilt says "We’re gonna need a bigger cage.", referencing the quote from Jaws, "We’re gonna need a bigger boat."
  • Mac references G.I. Joe, Fat Albert, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (specifically Michelangelo) and Scooby-Doo (specifically Shaggy and Velma) whenever he tries a new catchphrase.
  • Bloo resembles Darth Vader when he becomes Lord Uniscorn.
    • The scene in which Bloo is transformed into Lord Uniscorn is similar to the scene in which Anakin Skywalker is transformed into Vader in Revenge of the Sith.
