"Bloo Done It" is the twelfth episode of season 2 of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

Plot[]

SPOILER: Plot details follow.

During the production of the new Foster's Gazette, Bloo, the founder, is searching for headlines. In order to make the headlines interesting, he inserts himself into the stories. Mr. Herriman arrives to thank Bloo for starting the newspaper, and even starts a group cheer for Bloo. However, the cheering is interrupted by Frankie requesting Herriman's presence in the foyer. Another voice, speaking in rhyme, asks to see Herriman. Everyone excitedly runs to the foyer, with a confused Mac and Bloo taking up the rear.

Upstairs, a crowd has gathered to see the mystery guest. Herriman informs the house that Uncle Pockets has returned once again. Uncle Pockets explains that he was created many years ago and has since been adopted numerous times. He adds that he doesn't miss any of the kids he was with, declaring himself a professional friend. Uncle Pockets' charm drives all the other friends' attention to him, making Bloo jealous. Bloo thinks Pockets is a phony and decides to expose him through his newspaper.

Bloo tries to point out all the ways Uncle Pockets is suspicious, like the way he eats pizza or washes his hands. He asks all the friends in the house for their opinion, but none have negative things to say about him. Bloo prints his exposé anyway, to Mac's chagrin. Mac says that Bloo is not a reporter if he does not report the facts and drags Bloo upstairs to Uncle Pockets' room to give a proper interview. While there, Bloo searches around the room for something suspicious. When Bloo reaches for a brown bag, Uncle Pockets orders him away from it, then quickly ushers Mac and Bloo from the room. Bloo is excited about this potential scoop, but Mac has had enough of Bloo's behavior. He declares that he will get to the real truth, leaving Bloo alone.

Bloo walks down the halls, fuming over how much everyone loves Uncle Pockets, but as he passes Madame Foster's room, he overhears Uncle Pockets and the Madame talking. She says she knows of Pockets' "checkered past" and that he won't get away with what he's planning. Pockets responds that he's about to make his move. Bloo quickly writes this down in his notepad. For the rest of the day, Bloo follows Uncle Pockets around. Pockets makes threatening advances towards Mr. Herriman and Frankie about "rubbing out" Madame Foster. Pockets keeps catching Bloo spying on him and warns him that if he tells anyone about what he heard, the plan will be ruined. Despite this, Bloo runs off to tell Mac. Mac makes it very clear that he doesn't believe him, then goes to follow a lead on Uncle Pockets' past.

Later, Mac calls Bloo in the newsroom, wanting to share his new information, but just before Mac can get into it, Uncle Pockets enters the room and cuts the phone line. He brings Bloo to his bedroom and tucks him into the blankets so tightly that he can't move. After Pockets leaves, Bloo tries waking Wilt, Coco, and Eduardo, but they are fast asleep. Bloo thrashes around, and eventually starts moving the bunk beds. Bloo manages to get himself over to the door, and peeps through the keyhole. He sees a shadow of someone thrusting a knife down and hears Madame Foster screaming. Bloo quickly hops the beds over to the window, where he sees Uncle Pockets dragging a full burlap sack to the backyard and burying it. Bloo manages to get free from the sheets and falls out of the window. When Bloo hits the ground, Uncle Pockets sees and knocks him out with a shovel.

The following morning, Bloo wakes up with a big bump on his head, tightly tucked into the sheets again. Bloo thrashes his way downstairs with the bunk beds and confronts Uncle Pockets. Bloo advances towards Uncle Pockets and backs him up all the way to the recently disturbed dirt outside. Pockets tries to explain, but Bloo cuts him off and starts telling his version of events to the gathered crowd. He tells and exaggerates some things about the previous day's events and everything he heard Pockets say. Bloo declares that Uncle Pockets' scheme was to murder Madame Foster, take the deed to the foster home, and turn the place into a pocket-sewing sweatshop. He then goes to dig up the burlap sack. Bloo and Uncle Pockets fight over it, but they end up tearing it apart. What was actually in the sack were photos, small toys, and other little trinkets.

At that moment, Madame Foster arrives as healthy as ever. Bloo is confused, and Uncle Pockets offers his explanation. Uncle Pockets' "checkered past" was literally about playing checkers. As for the "good deed" and "rubbing out," those were both in reference to a gift certificate to a spa offering massages. Madame Foster opened the envelope containing the certificate with a knife, then screamed with joy. Bloo still demands to know why Pockets was burying random objects. Mac arrives and explains his findings. Mac did some research into Uncle Pockets and interviewed a few of the people who adopted him. Each of them said Pockets was upset when they separated and would ask for something to remember them by, like a toy or a handmade craft. Uncle Pockets would then keep the items in his suitcase until he had the chance to bury them in the yard.

Uncle Pockets admits that all of this is true, then says that his status as a professional friend meant not showing attachment to his kids. He thinks that everyone else will stop respecting him now that his secret is out, but seeing how much he cared for his previous kids, the other residents like Uncle Pockets even more, and still consider him the best imaginary friend ever, making Bloo even more annoyed.

Sometime later, Uncle Pockets gets adopted again and leaves. Bloo decides to print that as a front page story. Mac is happy that Bloo made a nice, factual story about Uncle Pockets, but Bloo just says he's happy that Pockets is gone and decides to go back to doing what he was doing before: making stories about himself.
